Joako's B'Day - First Post in English - North Sydney

De un exiliado a otro exiliado… FELIZ CUMPLE JOAKO (07/08/08). Lamento no poder haber ido a Melbourne a hacerte el aguante para tu cumpleaños, pero desde que llegue a Sydney soy pobre. En Baires era clase media alta, pero aca el dólar, estar desocupado y la renta hicieron que se me haga imposible ir a visitarte y festejar con vos. Ya te lo prometi y en un futuro, cercano o lejano no lo se, me voy para Melbourne y me demostras lo copado que es la ciudad en la que vos decidiste hacer base. Si tenemos tiempo tambien nos damos unas vuelas por el Outback, o alguna costa y me ensenias a surfear. Para todos los que estan lejos y no saben, le envie un regalo sorpesa a mi Amigo. No voy a escribir que es aver si el hdp lee y se caga la sorpesa. Te deseo lo mejor en tu dia y te pego un tubaso luego.

North Sydney

This time I’ll try to tell you guys about my adventures in English. I may have some spelling or grammatical errors, but I have to try to become fluent. Please try not to hate me, you all should be able to get it.

As I already told you I had a quite busy weekend. You got the news about the Royan National Park we visited on Saturday, well now it’s time to tell you about what we did on Sunday. You all know that I am not really comfortable on waking up early in the morning, lass during the weekend. Even though I managed to wake up at 8am and get dressed up to be picked up by Pao & Gon. We popped into the car and drove over the Harbour Bridge towards North Sydney. As usual, we took another road and ended up somewhere else. The air was hard to breath, we were all tired of getting lost every 5 min. Thanks to the location skills Paola managed to get us into the correct path. Once again on the main highway it took us 10min to get to Curl Curl Beach. I know I have told you the same about all beaches we visited, but it’s simply amazing: they are incredibly fantastic. I wouldn’t mind spending the next 100 summers on Syd beaches. They must get quite crowded, but we are used to it.. don’t ever forget where u come from…MARDEL…

While Pao & Gon did some surfing, I decided to go for a walk. I got to the end of the beach and I climbed the cliffs. Taking into consideration that they where not that high and dangerous, so I went up to have a better view and of course, for some pictures. Up there I realized that Pao was looking for me, so I got down and jogged. We waited for Gon and went to the next stop.

I am obliged to tell you that though we had a lot of fun this wasn’t a happy trip. We had two tiny accidents. When we got to the second beach, Dee Why, we wanted to have lunch, but something shocked us. Gon couldn’t find his wallet anywhere. We checked the car up and down, but we couldn’t find it. Consequently we went back to Curl Curl Beach to see if someone may have found it where we had parked. And that happened, but we never saw the wallet again. He lost his savings and credit cards, ID and driving licence. Once at the police station we did the report. Then, just like nothing we went back to Dee Why, had lunch and Gon went surfing, while Pao and I did some jogging over the beach. The view was unbelievable, as usual over here. There where some guys doing hang-gliding. I am definitely gonna give it a try as soon as I get some $$$ to pay for it! LOL

Ok, as I told you we had two tiny accidents, well the second one was committed by me. When we where driving home, on the highway, we kind of got stuck at the toll. Sunday afternoon, everyone was coming back to town. Well on that mini traffic jump I got astonished by a building and I kind of crashed really slowly into another car. Man, I got so scared, it wasn’t my car, and neither my country and I just smashed into another car for looking at a building. How dumb is that? Well not that dumb for me! I really didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t get out of the car because I was on the highway, and I didn’t want the other driver to think that I didn’t care. Pao & Gon screemed at me like.. WHERE THE HELL R U MAN! The thing is that we got to the toll; the driver I hit got out, looked at his car and told me… Don’t worry mate, it’s ok. And suddenly I felt relieved. I didn’t know if I had broken anything of “The Posimovil” but just the idea of not having to deal with a third party made me feel on the loose. Once at home I took a look at the car and it was ok, so… it was just a shock!
