Bad News - Immigration policies changed (spanish below)

For all of those who are planning to come over to Australia, or those like me who are looking forward to stay longer, there is something you have to know! The Australian Government is cutting down the amount of Skill Visas. The global crisis has also hit the island and unemployment has rise to 5,1%, something unusual here. Some professions will be removed from the SOE list, will other will remain. Trades in building and manufacturing will be removed, forcing companies to find bricklayers, plumbers, welders and carpenters domestically. Professions still experiencing skills shortages will be immune, such as nurses, doctors, engineers and information technology workers.

Though I do not like the policies adopted buy the Aussie Government, I understand why they decided to play it safe. This will make it harder to get into the country, or to say in it, but nobody should give up. Work & Holiday visa may be put in the fire line in a few months. As you may know, the bushfires in Victoria and the floods in Queensland will make it harder to get farming jobs. Consequently, the state may restrict the amount of W&H visa in the following months.

Things look bad all over the world, but it depends on us to see this as a threat or as an opportunity. So, what is if gonna be?

Malas Nuevas - Cambios en las polititcas inmigratorias

Esto es súper importante para todos los que están con ganas de emigrar a Australia, o aquellos que están buscando una manera de quedarse por más tiempo. El Gobierno Australiano decidió reducir la cantidad de Skill Migration Visas a emitir en los próximos años. La noticia fue dada el día de hoy. La crisis global esta golpeando a la isla, haciendo que el desempleo suba al 5,1% algo totalmente increíble para los ciudadanos del paraíso. Algunas profesiones van a ser removidas del listado SOE, y unas pocas se mantendrán intactas por el momento. Las profesiones relacionadas a la construcción y a las manufacturas serán removidas. Las industrias deberán buscar personal capacitado dentro del país, incentivando el empleo local. Profesionales en las áreas de medicina, ingeniería y tecnología quedaran intactas.

Si bien no me gusta las políticas adoptadas por el Gobierno Aussie, entiendo el por que de las medidas. Esto complica el panorama para nosotros, los inmigrantes. No solo sera mas complicado ingresar al país, sino que también buscar una salida para prolongar nuestra estadía, pero no se den de baja! Otra de las visas que puede estar en la línea de fuego en los próximos meses es la Work and Holiday Visa. Los incendios en Victoria y las inundaciones en Queensland complicaran la situación para las nuevas generaciones de backpacker. Habrá menos necesidad de mano de obra en los campos. No es seguro, pero el Gobierno podría aplicar una política similar a este tipo de visa.

Las cosas están complicadas en todo el mundo, pero depende de uno tomar todo esto como una amenaza o una oportunidad. Q vas a hacer vos?
