Yes, I did It!!!

Waking up is a very tuff thing for me, even more when it’s early in the morning. I am one of those lazy guys who rather stay up till late ours and sleep the whole morning if possible. So, waking up is always a hard process. Hearing the alarm at 7:30, reprogramming it to sleep another 5 min, trying to open eyes in a dark room… This is a process I repeated the last 5 years, while I when to Uni and afterwards every single working day. Though some days I was really sleepy, or didn’t want to walk up at all, I always had a good reason to turn on the radio at that early time. From Monday till Friday, mi dear friend Roberto Pettinato would be broadcasting “El Show de la noticia” on the radio (99.9FM or www.la100.com.ar). His team is one of a kind. They know how to fresh you up to start the day.

Despertarme temprano no es tarea fácil, más aun temprano en la mañana. Soy una de esas personas que prefieren quedarse despierto hasta altas horas de la noche y dormir toda la mañana de ser posible. Definitivamente, levantarme es un proceso arduo. Escuchar la alarma a las 7:30, reprogramarla para que suene en 5 min. , abrir los ojos en un cuarto oscuro en un cuarto todo oscuro. Esto es una tarea rutinaria que vengo repitiendo durante los últimos 5 años. Antes para ir a la Uni y luego, para llegar al laburo. A pesar de que varios días, si no todos, estaba súper dormido y no me quería levantar por ningún motivo, siempre tenía una buena razón para prender la radio. De lunes a viernes, mi querido amigo Roberto Pettinato está a cargo del “El Show de la noticia”(99.9FM or www.la100.com.ar). El equipo es único. Definitivamente saben cómo cargarte las pilas.

Though I have tried to find a similar broadcast in here I haven’t been successful so far. Unfortunately the Aussies radios are not as good as Pettinato, so since I got here I am still listening to him every single evening at work. It’s a nice and funny way of getting to know what the hell is going on back home. At the same time, they are always telling some dummy jocks that I could only find creative.

Si bien he intentado encontrar un programa con similares características en Australia, no tuve suerte hasta el momento. Las radios Aussies no son tan copadas como Petti, así que desde que llegue sigo fiel a “El Show de la Noticia” todas las tardes/noche en el laburo. Es un método divertido para enterarme de las cosas que están pasando x baires. Al mismo tiempo siempre cuentan chistes malos como los míos, otro motivo para escucharlo.

As any other radio show, every day they propose a theme, so that people can write/call them an tell what they think about it. Today, as the year is coming to an end, the theme was: What challenge did u take and succeed in 2008. When I heard it I thought about my trip... the one I had postponed for all time because of different reasons. And then I realized that this had been the challenged I took, and the one I succeed in. One thing is thinking about doing something... but quite dissimilar is do it. Now I become conscious of how stupid or how much guts I had by doing what I did. Leaving everything behind and starting all over from scratches. This pushed me forward to send an e-mail to Pettinato and tell the world about my challenged. Not only they broadcast my messaged, but Petti said: dude, you definitely know where to land! LOL

Como en cualquier programa de radio, todos los días proponen un tema a discutir, cosa de que la gente interactúe. Hoy, con la escusa de que el fin de año está cerca, el tema fue: Cual fue tu logro en el 2008?. Apenas la escuche me salto a la mente el viaje... que hacía ya un tiempo había postergado por diversos motivos. Siempre había pensado en rajarme, pero bien diferente era hacerlo. Ese fue mi desafío del 2008 y por fin lo había realizado. Ahora veo el “coraje” o lo estúpido que fui en rajarme,dejar todo y empezar de scratches.Esto me incentivo a escribir a la radio y contarles sobre mi locura. No solo pasaron el mensaje sino que Petti agrego: flaco, vos definitivamente sabias para donde rajar!
