Writing to the World

Primero y principal quiero agradecerle a Joaquín Rodríguez Montero por haberme hecho el puente con la gente de “Backpacker’s generation”. Joaquín, conocido de UdeSa, esta en New Zeland ya hace un par de meses laburando en una empresa creativa. Entre su cadena de contactos que fue generando se encontró con un flaco que buscaba a alguien que le escriba reportes de ciudades. A Joaquín se le prendió la lámpara y pensó en mí, en el blog y las ganas que me dan de escribir. Me conectó y acá me tienen. Laburando ½ tiempo para una empresa neocelandesa, muy loco pero copado. Este laburo si requiere que utilice mi cerebro, que haga un poco de research sobre los lugares que me pidan que escriba, etc. Obvio que no me pagan más que centavos, pero los centavos son siempre bienvenidos y mas cuando en la semana que viene solo me dieron 2 días de laburo en la empresa.

Todavía no se como cierra el tema de la exclusividad de lo que yo escriba, pero les posteo lo que seria mi primer post para esta empresa. Ya lo mande, veremos que me dicen. Ahí va:


Backpacking in Australia?

Are you planning your next trip around the word? Are you looking for a cool destination for some traveling? Well, there is not much to think about, Australia is waiting for you.

Almost isolated from the rest of the world, the only single country to occupy an entire continent, has a lot to offer to travelers. It doesn’t matter if you are into surfing, snowboarding or hiking your will definitely find it in Australia. The best thing of all is that you will just need to get one visa. Many travelers will have a long trip down to Antipodes, and some of them will have to get over some jet lag, but trust me, it worth it. No matter in which city you land, all of them have nice and cheap accommodation for backpackers where you can overcome such a trip. Once you get fit there are many places you should visit, each one has it unique charm.

If you like nature, and you are passionate about water-world, then Cairns (Queensland territory) is the place to be. There you will be able to explore the Great Barrier Reef, the largest coral reef system in the world. Many international institutions have labeled it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Are you more into surfing? If so, you will find in Bell Beach (Victoria) paradise. Located just 71 km south-west of Melbourne you will find the Surf Coast, where this Australia's iconographic surf spot. Many international surfing competitions are held in this beach, so if you ever dreamed of surfing the wave, you can miss this spot. If you are looking for some other nice beaches to surf, don’t forget these names: Byron Bay, Cottesloe, Palm Beach & Surfers Point. These beaches are spread all over the continent, so enjoy it.

Each territory has at least one national park or reserve. In there you will be able to get into the wild side of Australia. By doing some hiking you will get some amazing views. You may also find yourself next to a kangaroo or a koala. Nature will surround you and you will experience something you never have.

If you want to get deep into the Aussie-aborigine culture, your trip will take you deep into the desert. The outback, as the locals call it, is the host of Ayers Rock, an icon of adoration of ancient aborigines. There are many different stories about this large sandstone rock formation sacred to the Aboriginal people of the area, but you have to listen to them by your one.

At leas but not at last, Australia has some amazing cities to visit. All of them have their style. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth are he biggest ones, but this doesn’t mean that you should spend some days in places like Darwin, Adelaide or the capital, Canberra.

As it has said before, no matter what kind of travel experience or destination you are looking for, Australia can offer it. Trust me, there are many things about his ancient country that will astonish you. Just give it a try, come over!
