After traveling though the most visited destinations of Australia & New Zealand, the Viejis wanted to go to a nice place to relax. When they first told me they were coming over they said they wanted to go to Fiji. Many of us, south Americans think that Fiji is one of a kind island, but it’s not. We dream about Fiji as the Polynesia, but the true is that Fiji doesn’t even belong to Polynesia. It’s all about marketing… There are hundreds of amazing islands to visit at the Pacific Ocean. Have you ever hear about Tonga, Niue, The Salomon islands, or Kiribati??
Those are some of the REAL Pacific Ocean places to visit. When you live on this side of the world you are exposed to much more locations that travel agents the rest of the world. Many of them would just offer you a “remarkable” all inclusive Resort in Fiji, and that’s it. Don’t ask for more… cause they won’t know.
I wanted to make something special out of this trip. Consequently, when my parents told me they wanted to go to Fiji y talk them over and decided to make something less contemporary. They give up their plan of visiting Fiji and left me choose any other island. That’s when Samoa came into place. A few friends of mine had been there for holidays and they convinced me by seeing some pics that… SAMOA had to be the place. So… that’s where we flew.

Los Viejis de Visita II
Luego de recorrer las atracciones turísticas Australianas y de Nueva Zelanda, los Viejis querían pasar unos días en un lugar donde pudieran descansar un poco de tantas idas y vueltas. Cuando me dijeron que venían y que querían ir a alguna isla del pacifico.. lo primero que les salió del bocho fue FIJI. Para muchos de nosotros, FIJI es como una isla soñada, LA POLINESIA, algo UNICO, pero no es así. Es todo marketing. Fiji es hermoso por lo que dicen, pero también se comenta que es todo puro marketing. Además…. Off the record.. FIJI NO ES PARTE DE LA POLINESIA… otro truco de las agencias de viajes para hacer unos $$$ mas!
Hay millones de islas tan alucinantes como Fiji en el pacifico. Escucharon alguna vez hablar de Tonga, Niue, Las islas Salomón o Kiribati?? Desde mi perspectiva, estas son las islas que uno debería visitar. El hecho de vivir por la zona donde se encuentran estas islas uno empieza a aprender mucho más sobre los destinos y lo que ofrecen. Créanme o no… les puedo asegurar que se mas de las islas del pacifico que su agente de viajes. La mayoría de los agentes te venden un “SUPER PAQUETE” en un allá inclusive en un Resort de Fiji y listo. No pidas mas por que no tienen ni idea a donde te están mandando.
Yo quería hacer de este viaje algo histórico. Cuando mis viejos me dijeron que quieran in a Fiji, trate de convencerlos que optaran por una locación menos turística, menos convencional. Quería un viaje diferente a lo que todos hacen, salir de la monotonía.
Por suerte luego de varias charlas por tel y mails… me dejaron buscar otros destinos y así llegamos a SAMOA. Varios conocidos australianos me dijeron que era un lugar único y no podía perdérmelo… así que… allá fuimos..
